How to Get Rid of a Cold Fast With Chinese Reflexology: Part 3

Chinese Reflexology Point #3: Tonsils and Throat

Here’s one of my favourite reflexology points for nipping a sore throat in the bud.  It’s also one of my least favourite points in this reflexology protocol to get rid of a cold fast.  Why the dichotomy?

I love this point because it works fast, but it’s also really sensitive when my throat is sore.  Even the slightest pressure is uncomfortable to touch.

OK, who am I kidding?  When your throat hurts, this point hurts even more.  On a bright note, while you massage the tonsil/throat reflex points on your feet, you’ll completely forget about how sore your throat is because your toe will be hurting so much.  See, it’s working already.  Ha!

On a serious note, if you can tolerate the discomfort, this point will do wonders to clear energy blockages in your neck and throat, which will allow your body to heal more quickly.

In my personal experience, I’ve found this point also targets the lymph nodes in the neck.  The lymphatic system is a critical part of your immune system.  It could definitely use a boost when fighting off a cold.

As you’ll notice in this diagram, I took the time to draw in toenails and they’re a lot harder to draw than you would think.  It was worth it because now you can see that the tonsil/throat reflexology points are located on TOP of your toe.  There are actually four points, two located side by side on top of each big toe, just below the toe knuckle.

Tonsils and Throat Reflexology PointTo massage these points, make a fist with your hand.  Then place the knuckles of your index and middle finger on top of your big toe, just below the toe knuckle, on either side of the crest of the toe bone.  Turn your wrist back and forth to press on the points with your knuckles.  Do this for about 30 seconds.

Hmm, I wish I had a good metaphor for the massage technique here.  How about you wriggle your wrist like you’re jiggling a loose doorknob?  That’s not bad.  Too bad I don’t have a reflexology point for bad-metaphoritis.

We’re past the halfway point now!  Just two more points to go. Thanks for making it this far.  The next two points are super easy and they’ll give your body an extra energy boost so that you can get rid of that cold fast.
