Q&A Monday: Fibromyalgia and Feeling Cold

Q: I have Fibromyalgia and one of the issues for people like these is the fact that our body temperature is lower than most (mine is 96.8 and not 98.6) which makes us cold all the time. I am in pain because of this coldness and constantly under a blanket and almost immovable all winter long. Is there a reflexology move that you can advise for me?

KidneysWithLocatorLinesA: Thank you for your question. I have a free online lesson that would be relevant to your question. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, feeling cold all the time is related to the Kidney channel.

People who have low Qi (energy) in the Kidney meridian, tend to feel cold all the time, especially in the feet. One way to feel less cold is to boost your Kidney Qi. Massaging the Chinese Reflexology point for the Kidney can help to increase the flow of energy through the Kidneys and the Kidney meridian.

I wrote an article explaining more about how the Kidney is considered “the root of life”, as well as how to locate and massage this point. It’s actually Lesson 3 in my free online lessons. You can sign up below for the lessons or alternately, you can go straight to the article by clicking the link below:

I hope you are feeling better soon. Thank you for your question as it reminded me to invite a friend of mine on Dragon Spirit Radio (my online radio show) to share her story. She completely recovered from Fibromyalgia and her story is very inspiring and uplifting.

Got a Question?

Because of the volume of emails I receive and because I’m a full-time mom, I unfortunately can’t answer everyone’s questions personally. That’s why I created Q&A Mondays. You can submit your question on the Got a Question page.

Thank you.

Thanks for this article! I was looking for ideas for memory and your article arrived just in time! Do you sell the acupuncture sticks on your site? I might have just missed it when I searched your site. I’d love to order them from you and give you the business since you have been so helpful with your teleclasses and articles. If you don’t sell them, could you give me a quality site that sells them?

I would also love an article on using reflexology for autoimmune disease. I struggle with chronic pain and nasty digestive ailments and low body fluid (in every form). I practice qi gong and foot massage daily and love them, but haven’t found benefits to my physical health. I don’t know if I’m not being specific enough with them or if some people simply don’t respond well to these fantastic methods. Thoughts? (I eat whole foods/sustainable/local/seasonal etc and live a low stress life.)

    Thank you so much!
    Holiday blessings to you!
